A man arrives on the shore of the Isle of Berk. He adjusts his long brown coat and hopes off the boat he came on. "Well that certainly was a longer trip than I expected it to be." He admits as he stretches his arms happy to be on land again. He wondered what kind of welcome he was going to get this time Rivers looks around and begins to orient himself remembering what he had been told about this island.
"I guess if I want to get to the settlement it is this way." He mumbles as he begins heading towards the location Aria had told him about. Despite his relaxed posture Rivers was keeping a close eye on the area looking for anything that might be out of place. He'd had some inconvenient run ins when he washed ashore on the Bog Burgs island and he did not care to repeat the experience.
As he gets closer to the city he calls out. "Hello! I have a message for the...leader of the...Harry Hooligans?" He calls the last part out slightly unsurely, he had a feeling that this was all some cruel joke that Aria was playing on him, but if that was the case he'd just have to get away and hike over to another island, he's 'picked up' some money while he'd been on the Bog's island from a couple of the men who'd tried to rob him initially.

The sounds of a bustling village would greet Rivers ears. Upon his arrival upon the isle of Berk at the large docks the smell of fish would assault his nose. As he moved farther into the village he could hear the sound of the smithy hammering away at the anvil the smell of baking bread and hear the bleating of several sheep. Its a relatively calming peace that would befall the new comer to this lovely little place.
However, the illusion shatters as the smell of burning wood would invade ones nose and the angry shouting of a young woman not even past her twenty-second winter. "ALL RIGHT! WHO THOUGHT IT WOULD BE FUNNY TO LURE A MONSTEROUS NIGHTMARE INTO MY HOUSE!" She was walking through town and upon spotting a group of young teens snickering she drew her sword and pointed it to the group. "Very funny.. Now, for your punishment you're going to lure it out and then you are going to clean up the mess. Then, your parents are going to rebuild my home." The group of teens groaned a bit before taking off, Azeria delivering a swift kick to the slowest ones rear. It was an affectionate gesture given what had happened. Shaking her head a bit she turned to Rivers and looked him over a bit.
"Oi! I heard you were looking for the Leader of the Hairy Hooligans? Id be her. I'm sorry about that.. Teenagers, I'm not too mad at them since my sister and myself did the same thing to the last Clan leader." Holding out her hand she waited for Rivers to take it before she would shake his hand in a firm grip with a grin. "Azeria Wurud, at your service."

As Rivers looks at the bustling city he smiles, this was a very different from the Bogs and not necessarily in a bad way. There was something to be said about stability and infrastructure. Rivers found himself wondering what kind of clan the Hairy Hooligans were. As he stepped into the village the scent of fire touched his nostrils and he instantly stepped towards it a slight smile on his lips an a posture that said he was supposed to be here.
While it was true that he had found he had an aptitude for stealth he much preferred hiding among the crowd from hiding in the shadows. Though as he sees the woman scold the children he realizes that he had miscalculated since it seems that this kind of excitement was not quite as attention grabbing as one would think. Well makes sense since I haven't had a chance to really look around or understand the culture.
As the woman looks over at him and introduces herself he smiles and takes her hand, his grip was firm and his smile was pleasant. "I have to admit I am surprised, I did not expect to meet you so quickly after arriving." He admits. "My name is Rivers, no last name. I am here on behalf of Aria Wurud to deliver a message." He explains wanting to establish his business quickly, even though he was not sure about getting down to it too quickly. This was a good opportunity.
"I will have to ask your forgiveness for this, but I fairly new to the area and I am not familiar with the customs around here. Is there something I am supposed to call you?" He asks. If the woman looked him over Rivers seemed to be a very strange mix of the various races, mostly Burley and Quicken. He was quite tall and his long brown coat and sheathed swords do not look anything like items from this area.

Chuckling lightly she released his hand as she placed both leather gauntlet clad hands on her hips as she shook her head. "I didn't expect my home to be set on fire either today. But, I'm pretty easy to find around here being outside already I heard you call out as I was looking for the little gremlins that pulled such a prank on me." Shaking her head a bit she let out a little sigh, the kind that a mother would when she's trying to be stern but found amusement in what was done wrong. It was clear that it was hard for her to stay mad at the teenagers antics.
At hearing 'Aria Wurud' her expression changed, her smile faded quickly as a frown nearly instantly took its place. Worry white washed her features as she took Rivers arms in her strong hands and held him still so he couldn't escape. "You've seen my sister? Where is she? How is she? --" Her words after that trailed off as she began to bauble, it was clear that he had touched a nerve. While it wasn't a bad one it would be apparent that it has been some time since they last spoke. It was now that she was closer to Rivers that he would be able to see the similar eye color and akin features while certain aspects were different there were many the same.
Snapping out of it she released him and cleared her throat, a light blush crossing her features for a brief moment before it vanished all together. "I am sorry, please call me Azeria. Come, let us go the main hall and get some food and drink in us. We can talk more so there. " Azeria herself held only the strength and what one might determine if she wasn't wearing armor the curves of a burly and the rest screamed quieken.

Rivers face becomes unreadable the moment Azeria grabs him but inside there was a strong jolt of panic. He was alone and in enemy territory, and someone was grabbing him. For some reason this seemed like a much bigger deal than bonds and arrest that had happened to him when he was running around half starved and mostly drown.
The panic disappears in an instant though and he manages not to jerk away from her grasp, freaking out would only harm his situation. Though as she begins asking him questions Rivers realizes his instincts had been wrong. I am not on my game today. He scolds himself internally as he waits for her to release him, a slight and companionable smile replacing the expressionless mask.
"You startled me there." He admits letting out a breath and then giving the woman a once over again...certainly not hard on the eyes, he saw a little bit of Aria in her after all. While he found many of these features appealing when seeing them in the woman in front of him he wondered why he felt no attraction to Aria herself. Well that was not important right now.
As Azeria begins to move towards the main hall he follows. "To be honest I only just met Aria myself, she seems to be doing okay, but I guess being the leader of the Bog Burglars affords her a lot less prestige and fame than she was suggesting." He muses. "I am doing some part time work for the Bog Burglars at the moment and part of that is talking to you." He admits.
"I know you want to ask about her, but would you mind telling me a bit more about he Hairy Hooligans?" He requests. "In the interest of full disclosure I am missing the memories of most of my personal history and I am kinda trying to learn about this area."

Nodding a bit she brushed a bit of her dark chestnut hair behind one of her pale ears as she pushed open the great halls doors and entered. Shrugging off her shield she set it down on the table, much like her bow. Her quiver and her sword stayed in place which was strapped around her waist. Motioning to the bar maid she nodded and brought over two tankards of ale and roasted mutton with various root based veggies that grew with ease in this area. There was also rosemary wrapped fish set along side. This was a rather large and hearty meal, making one question as to how she still fit into such petite armor.
"I would be more than happy to tell you. Well, Ive been Clan leader for about five years now but I've lived here all of my life so I know a bit of the history and tales." Clearing her throat a bit she told him of the clans history and about the Hairy Hooligan tribe is predominately male usually woman belong to other tribes however there are a couple fierce Hooligan Women. The Hairy Hooligan tribe is known for their fiercely brave and cunning warriors. They are often great thinkers when it comes to battle strategy. They are known for their expertise when dealing with dragons around the Barbaric Archipelago.
She also told him about the ability that they have with dragons. While its not a complete understanding of them it is easier for the hairy hooligans to get along with dragons. Though, more times than not they do hunt dragons.. While in the past before her they hunted them fiercely it has tapered down to 'as long as they don't attack the village'. As she spoke she would not notice the tiny green dragon poking its head up under her arm inching towards her food that shes only touched slightly.

A lounge poked out curiously; it smelt food in the air….something that its rumbling tummy was much in need of. After all it didn’t get to munch on the tasty soft bark the two legger who wished to be a dragon had. Getting food was difficult without nest mates. But at last a possible easy target was spotted; the loud two legger had not poison spit like the last one.
Slowly it wormed its way up to the table; its food it sight, slowly ever so slowly it picked its head up letting the tasty morsel come directly in view.

Rivers sits across the table from Azeria using his coat as a cushion. He was surprised by how open the woman was and the more she spoke and he observed her the more he wondered if she and his current 'Boss' were related. I suppose it is no surprise for two sisters to grow up differently under different circumstances. As he hears about the tribe he nods, most of what she was saying made sense as far as what he knew of social structures though he was surprised to hear about how common dragons were and that these people could communicate with them.
"I had always assumed dragons were rare, but then again I guess that's just my faulty memory." He mumbles and looks back up into the woman's eyes. Unwavering gaze, guess she's used to people and taking charge.
"I would be interested in hearing more about the Hooligan customs and stories, I am a collector of stories myself." He tells her with a broad and confident smile. Rivers could tell that whatever else he was he had always been a storyteller and collector. Every time he learned of these new tales he found himself more and more enthralled by the world around him.
As her explanations come to an end he nods his thanks. "I appreciate the explanation." Then after thanking her he puts his palm on the table, and as if it had come from nowhere there was suddenly a sealed letter on the table. "Aria sent this out to the clans, I can take her back your reply, or if you would prefer I can bring you along with me and you can give it to her yourself." He suggests.
When she opens the letter it would read:
"Urgent
Peaceful County has been experiencing a startling increase in dragon attacks; mainly there food stores are being raided along with their livestock. Because of the food shortages they are closing off all trades; winter is fast approaching and since they provide a large portion of our clan’s food for the winter their problem is all of our problem. Thus it is our duty to our clans to find a solution as quickly as possible; which means all of us working as one. Men need to be sent to Peaceful County to defend their island; along with teams being sent out to investigate the cause of the recent Dragon attacks.
I call for a temporary treaty between all clans until this matter is resolved; under this treaty there will be no attacks towards other clans or its members. Any who break such a treaty will be punished severely and considered a traitor of their clan. If you acknowledge the threat and agree to the terms then please include your signature below.
A.W."
As Azeria reads the letter Rivers looks at her again. There was always the chance his food or drink had been poisoned, but that would have had to happen before they had entered the hall. After a moment he decides to go with his instincts and takes a swig of the ale.

Azeria was focused on Rivers the the great most part, and when he gave her the letter she became so engrossed with it she didn't notice the little green dragon at all. Finally after several long moments and re-reading the letter twice over she paused and looked up to rivers as she blinked a bit before turning her head to look at the dragon that she finally noticed was invading her personal space. A soft sigh escaping her lips as she continued to watch it. 'Normally this little one stick to following me around my home, Must be hungry to venture here of all places.'
Normally she didn't want to encourage the little pests but, given the fact that it was in the great hall of all places she felt bad. Turning her head she picked the rosemary off her fish before sliding a small bit towards her as she ate some more of her mutton while she mulled over her thoughts.
Her turquoise eyes let on to what she was thinking. She missed her sister dearly, leaving would give her the option of seeing her sister again. However, that would leave her village leader-less for a period of time. While this would not cause overly much trouble normally she was more worried about. After a long moment of deliberation she nodded. "If you like we can set out tonight, take the fastest ship we have towards the bog burglar island. Or, we can hunker down here for the night. Since I have to wait for my home to be rebuilt." She stated calmly as she shot a glare to the burly man cleaning the tables, one could assume it was a parent of one of the teens responsible for burning her home down.

Its eyes shifted upwards as the food was moved…if dragons could scowl that would be the look on this terrible terrors face. It froze in place when the two legger’s gaze turned on it…yelling or shoe throwing usually fallowed this one. Its face lit up when the human turned and the food was slid toward it. It let out a chortle as it snatched the fish and scampered off. Much better then soft trees.

As Rivers watches Azeria read he rests his cheek on his hand wondering how she would react. He'd already read the letter due to his own curiosity. Though as he watches he notices the small green dragon poke its head out and start trying to eat. He leans in a bit with an inquisitive expression. "Hello there." He greets the dragon. Though when she sighs he looks back up at Azeria. "I guess not all of the dragons want to eat people huh?" He asks curiously. His only encounter with dragons had been when a small pack of them tried to eat him in the forest.
Rivers considers saying something to help ease the girl's tension about leaving her village but he stops himself. It was her village to manage and she certainly knew the situation better than he did. After she makes her decision and responds he closes his eyes and contemplates her response.
"Well to be honest either option works for me I think we're more bound by your schedule than mine." He points out as in truth he did not really have anything that would potentially hold them up. Though he ponders a question that had arisen for him for a bit and finally asks "so what's the story behind you and Aria, it seems strange for a pair of sisters and clan chiefs to not know about each other despite both being part of the western isles."

At seeing the little dragons face light up she made a soft coo border line clicking nose much like one would make when trying to coax a cat closer to them. Then a dazzling smile graced her features making her turquoise eyes sparkle. She looked very lovely in that moment before that is she looked back towards Rivers the smile still on her features. "That little one would prefer to nibble on toes or eat little things in store rooms. Hmm.. Scavengers I think? Given their size it probably hunts in a pack? I do not know the full details, I am both fascinated by dragons and I try to hold them at arms lenght. While most of the time they are a danger to us there are the little ones that are much like pests. However, that little one is a terrible terror and Ive had one or more bothering me for years. I tend to throw my boot at it at times, never hitting it Ive also pushed it out of my home with a broom, or just opened a window and put it outside. Just be careful around them, watch them carefully and then from there make the choice to run or not."
Her lips parted as she thought, her mind cycling though her thoughts about leaving so suddenly as she nodded. "I will put my blacksmith in charge until I get back. I want you to take me to my sister after you're done eating. Well take Stormcutter." Stormcutter being her more favorite ship, she had the head of it cut to look like that of a Stormcutters head and decorative fins cut into the side that looked like the wings of said dragon that it got its namesake from. Taking a deep breath she let out a long sigh as she picked up her tankard and began drinking from it much like any burly man ever could. Once she was half down she set it down and used her leather gauntleted hand to wipe the remaining away. "My sister and I have not seen each other since the coming of age ceremony. Im assuming she left in shame." She didn't want to continue the subject the regret etched on her features, her mind reeling through the 'what ifs' and she desperately wished she could of done something more. She was however curious as to why exactly her sister ended up on Bog Burglar turf when she was a Hairy Hooligan! She had half a mind to tie up Aria and toss her over her shoulder and take her back to Berk.

Rivers leans in to look at the creature but as he sees Azeria smile he takes a mental picture, there were few times in life that one saw a truly timeless moment, this would make good material for a song, or at the very least a good scene for a poem. He files it away and returns to the present situation...he needed to find more out about this place, and most importantly...he hadn't eaten his meal yet.
Rivers begins to eat the food in front of him as she explains the nature of the smaller dragons as well as the ones who attacked him. "Hmmm, that's weird, I had always imagined dragons as giant fearsome creatures." He admits as he looks down at the small one again. "Well I suppose in a lot of ways they're like people then, coming in all sorts of different flavors." After saying this he thinks about a dragon wearing his long brown coat...good thing he was born human.
Though as she says she would be putting the black smith in charge he smiles. "Well then milady, let me escort you on a grand adventure to a den of rogues and thieves." He says standing and bowing with a practiced flourish that seemed to fit his flamboyant attitude.
As he hears about how his current boss failed the coming of age he tilts his head in curiosity. "Oh~? What is involved in this coming of age ritual?"

"I am sorry. If she has not told you than I should not of said anything. While I love and miss my sister my respect for her is still something that exists despite the circumstances behind her leaving. However, since I have put my foot in the dragons mouth I might as well tell you. Here on Berk there is a coming of age ceremony in which we go out and capture a dragon.. We then bring it back and slay it in front of the clan leader and elders. I did so with ease and flying colors.. Its hide now makes my armor." She paused and ran her fingers through her short hair. "My sister was able to capture a dragon as well.. But when it came down to killing it.. She could not and turned the creature loose."
She sighed out a bit louder as she rubbed the back of her head. She wondered what mother would think at this rate.. She wondered if mother knew or not. Her features were lost in thought for a moment as she began finishing her meal in silence. Only once the last scrap of food on her plate was eaten and she finished her ale she sat back and watched Rivers. "Well. Once you are finished we can take off and proceed on our journey."
