 The Northern Territories are often cold, with long, harsh winters. It's rare to find areas with no snow here. If it's not covered in snow, chances are it's a hunk of rock. However, as you get closer to the borders, the weather does become warmer, allowing for large farms.

 The southern islands are almost of a tropical climate, the whether is mostly mild. However that does change during typhoon season; in which case there is rain...lots and losts of rain.
