Bog Burglar Clan
The History of Bog Burglars The Bog Burglars use to be ruled by Sidnar the Sleezy; he was a cruel man who made many enemies; probably why the Bog Burglars are right behind the outcast for being the least liked clan of them all. On top of his nasty streak he was as deadly as a Nadder, and ruled the clan with an iron fist. He was originally outted by the Murderous clan; something about trying to out the leader there. When that failed he went and took over the Bog Burglars. The Bog Burglars under his rule became as nasty and quick as the Murderous clan; and under his direction they rivaled them when it came to …disposing of unwanted weight. However with a much greater need to fill their pockets. Aria the current leader came into the clan around when she was sixteen; she had left her home clan the Hairy Hooligans and joined up with the Bog Burglars. She started out as a low ranking member but quickly moved her way up through the ranks. She was kind to her people, and ruthless towards their enemies. Her prowess in battle was unrivaled, and she could swipe you of the very clothes you were wearing. She earned the loyalty of many of the members; something which Sidnar used to his advantage. He moved Aria up to Second in command; using her to secure his position. Not even a year later Sidnar died in a raid on the Hairy Hooligan tribe. They had very unfortunate timing and hit at the same time as a nest of dragons…Some say Aria tricked a dragon into eating Sidnar, others say he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time, there are actually a few stories and speculations on how he was ousted…most favor the idea that Aria had done him in. Not that anyone was complaining… |
Clan Leader: Aria Wurud
Tiny but deadly
Born to the Hairy Hooligan tribe Aria is not a native born Bog Burglar; which makes it twice as odd for her to have taken over as the clan leader. When you first meet her you would not guess what she is capable of; she is quirky and seems a bit off…..well off enough that she probably should be a part of the Hysteric Tribe… but those that fallow her know she’s sharp as a whip and frankly a bit scary. There is a rumor that she killed the original clan leader; and doesn’t ever really deny it. To her clan members she is a kind ruler, with a firm hand. However she has a nasty streak to rival the former leader when it comes to those who cross her…or break the clan rules. |
Second In Command: Open
A small description of the character
The Bog Burglar Second in command is currently open. If you wish to apply please just pm me with your idea. |
Territory
The Bog Burglar territory consists of three close knit islands. The islands themselves are mountainous in terrain and covered with thick pine forests. The islands form a crescent; the islands go in order from, Nonagi, Norstrum, and last but not least Nordia. The islands themselves are connected closely with a large river with brackish water to separate them. The river itself has strong currents so it makes it slightly difficult getting from one island to the other. Small fresh water streams run into it via the islands.
Nonagi, the second largest island of the Bog Territory. It is also the second tallest; its large mountain is heavily forested; the houses here are also small and usually connected via small tiny paths. More like tiny cabins in the woods. Really you wouldn’t expect much on this island; however it does have one well known pub called the Leaky Wheel. It’s a large inn as well that many frequent even if it’s a hike to reach it. The Leaky wheel is the last building you will encounter while climbing up the mountain side, and is located right near a large stream that tumbles down the steep mountain side. At the top of this mountain though is what the island is really famous for; its hot springs. The hot springs are just the right temperature for humans to find comfortable. Its in a heavily wooded area with a smooth pebbled shore. With plenty of sitting rocks to enjoy while basking in the waters.
Norstrum is the tallest however the smallest island on the island. It sits in-between the two other islands and is the main area of the clan. It too is heavily forested, but as it rises the mountain top loses its trees. The tip of the mountain is a jagged peak and only indication that the island is an inactive volcano. The island has a large beach with many docks and buildings lining the coast. Many shops are lined up here as well and its considered a large area of trade. The buildings continue up for a little ways creating a small town with more of the main shops such as blacksmiths, tailors, bakers, ect. As you travel up it becomes more wooded and much easier to lose your way; many of the paths branch out into ways that lead to nowhere of off cliffs. Or into deep caves with something unpleasant living in them. Some paths will lead to small huts with their own tiny farms. The terrain will become more rocky as you go up and if you choose the right path you will enter a large clearing with a few large huts; and farms with live stock. The huts are common areas where a few families will live together during the winter months. The great hall can be found here as well. Carved right into the side of the mountain.
Nordia; is the largest island and also the flattest, well sort of. Its flat land sits upon a tall plateau with high cliffs. Its filled with large pastures for the farms and livestock of the islands. The easiest way to get to Nordia is via the large rope bridge that’s connected to Norstrum. The real interesting thing about Nordia isn’t what lies on top of it, but under it. Its filled with under water caverns with air pockets that lead to a network of caves that go throughout the entire island.

Rules, Gods & Traditions
Beliefs of traditions of the Bog Burglars
Aria ~“The difference between a thief and a burglar is a burglar will charge in and completely wipe out everything you have at once. No class or skill to it…well besides bashing a few heads in. They are also the ones to get caught first because they lack finesse. Being a thief…aaah now that requires much more craft and cunning"
Rules of the Bog Burglars
Aria prides herself in transforming the Bog Burglar Clan from common low brow Burglars to masterful thieves and spies.
Three Cardinal Rules
1: Never get caught! Time, place, and circumstance means everything. A good thief will spend weeks preparing before they make a move.
2: Don’t be obvious, one thing that will separates a thief from a burglar is a thief does not cover who stole what but actually the fact they stole something in the first place. As soon as someone realizes they have been stolen from there goes a potential consistent target. A good thief also knows not to target the same person consistently; diversity is your friend.
3: Be aware of your surroundings. You have to memorize your surroundings down to every last detail. You want to leave a place looking as though you never were there in the first place. Be able to spot traps; escape routes, ect.
These are three rules that every good Bog Burglars go by…and frankly because of it public relations with the other tribes have gone up. If you foul this up there could be some consequences from the higher ups.
Traditions & Ceremonies
All Bog Burglars to become an official ranking member must pass a rite of passage. Usually the elder members of the clan will organize a hunt which will put the Burglars skills to the test. What goes on in these tests are a heavily guarded secret of the clan; which makes taking it that much more ominous.
The branding, every Bog Burglar bears the mark of the clan somewhere on their person. Whether it be a tattoo, or on a trinket or something; this mark is the ticket to get into the more secret places upon the island. The mark itself is a single changewing.
Holidays
The Giving: This holiday takes place at the beginning of the new year; folks gather round and exchange gifts and have feasts. It’s a time of family and community. Many decorate their homes in evergreens, with strings of popped corn and red berries. A great bon fire takes place outside where the night is spent dancing and drinking.
Knotting: Knotting is a holiday in the spring when the first flowers have bloomed and the snow has melted away. This is a time for couples to get together and show their love; love is the theme for this holiday. A tradition of giving a flower crown to a young woman is the equivalent of asking to court her. So many young women are hoping for a flower crown around this time.
Summer Solstice: A large celebration that takes place on the first day of summer. Many go down to the beach and celebrate with floating lanterns. Tons of lanterns can be seen sent up in the air on the Solstice; each with a hope or dream written on the lantern.
The Sharing: In between The Hallow and Solstice, The Sharing is week long event when the weather is getting a bit colder, where people gather in small groups to go camping out in the wilderness. They will spend the week sharing stories and enjoying each other’s company.
The Hallow: Marks the end of the harvest season; all crops have been gathered and stored for the winter. Pumpkins are carved in spooky faces, and houses decorated with dried corn stalks. This is a night for playing tricks and giving treats. It also celebrates the lives of those that had passed from this world. Usually a bonfires are set up here and there offering warm cider for those that are passing through.
